Protesting Riders Engaged Police In Running Battles After Bodaboda Rider Was Found Dead in thicket

The discovery of a boda boda rider's body has sparked protests in Kajiado.

Protesting bodaboda riders engaged the security officers in running battles making transport system in the busy Nairobi- Namanga highway to come to a standstill for almost five hours on Tuesday, July 6, calling for justice and accountability in the demise of George Omollo, a bodaboda rider within the area.

Omolo was found dead and his body dumped in a thicket next Olkejuado High School.

''Such crime scenes are now posing serious threats i in this area, and we are requesting that the culprits of this acts to be hold accountable,'' protested David Mwangi, a boda boda operator.

Kajiado County police commander Daudi Lolonyokwe who confirmed the incident asked for patience. Lolonyokwe added the police investigations are underway to establish the motive behind the killing.

He advised the bodaboda riders to adhere to the laid down curfew measures to avoid falling in police traps.
