The decision attracted diverse opinions from Kenyans among them celebrated gospel artist from the Kalenjin tribe, Emmy Kosgei. In a reply to Pastor T Mwangi call for prayers and action on the issue on Facebook, Kosgei condemned pastors who were doing nothing to prevent such occurrences.

Emmy Kosgei who is famous for Ategisin hit, directly addressed pastors who were have been visiting statehouse asking them to emulate prophet Daniel who rejected Kings food. She advised them to use the opportunity like Mordecai did to pass policies that would be beneficial to Kenyans instead of enjoying selfies with leaders and failing to fulfill their mandate in guiding the society against crucial matters such as LGBTQ.

"Men of cloth and Christians should review the trips to statehouse and prayers to taking advantage of this window to influencing policies... Kingdom of God is more than food...our Daniels should arise"
