According to lawyer Muthomi Thiankolu, the resignation of Francis Nyangaya and Juliana Cherera is a grave mistake and a miscalculation. The lawyer is clear that the two IEBC Commissioners ought to have waited for charges and tribunal to clear their names. Resigning means you are guilty as accused.

Lawyer Thiankolu is overly convinced that Cherera and her other 3 IEBC Colleagues should face trial. They were accused of attempted Coup hence they must be paraded and charged as such. The guilty of treason or Coup is a death penalty according to Kenyan laws.
It's a fact that two IEBC Commissioners have resigned from IEBC and we have only two remaining. The matter has been interesting because the 4 IEBC Commissioners tried to cause chaos in the country by sabotaging a democratic process.
President Ruto has already formed a Judicial team of inquiry to have the 4 IEBC Commissioners clear their names. However, some of them have a resigned a matter Lawyer Thiankolu terms a bad precedent.
