A section of elders in Nakuru County have challenged the opposition leader, Raila to ensure that the demonstrations he is planning are peaceful.

The elders led by James Ngethe, the county Chair for Kikuyu Council of Elders said that Raila and his followers have in their own rights to hold the protests.
The elders spoke when they were hosted by the former Bahati MP, Kimani Ngunjiri where they called for a truce among Kenyans for the country's development.

This follows Raila's claim that they would conduct demonstrations on the streets of Nairobi later this week I. protests against impending investigations of the four IEBC Commissioners.
He regretted the trend that any planned demonstration organized with the expectation of the public being provoked to use extra force on the protestors.

Ngunjiri said that Raila should hold the protests with decorum and instructions to his supporters on their primary goal.
