Back in 2016 as Brian Kobiero a teacher by profession was writing his masters thesis, he needed a mentor who would help him through.
He met Christine Tanner, a Canadian citizen on LinkedIn platform where they would become friends and later on Ms Tanner would move to Kenya and was introduced as Kobiero's wife in August 2017.
Unfortunately, Ms Tanner would be one of the 157 passengers who were burnt beyond recognition after Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 Max crashed in Addis Adaba-Bole on 10th March 2019.
As a result, Mr Hunter French, son to the deceased was left as the trustee of his mother's estate.
In a turn of events, Mr Kobiero through his lawyer filed a case at Siaya High Court in March accusing Mr French of refusing to recognise him as his mother's husband. He now seeks to be recognised as the bona fide husband to late Ms Tanner.
The Siaya High Court judge, Justice Roselyn Aburili has today ruled that the case will be heard on 20th September later this year where Mr Kobiero will be offered a chance to testify in the court.
