Tension high in Baringo due to Banditry attack.residents from Kagir protest for peace to reign.

Tension is high in Baringo county due to the Banditry attack as Residents of Kagir Baringo county, want the government to fast track the deployment of police reservists in the region.

The Rift valley regional commissioner Muhammed Maalim, has instructed county commissioner from Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot to continue with aggressive peace campaigns to restore calms along the disturbed regions.

In Kagir frequent raids by bandits have led to the protesting of the residents.

"Haki yetu! Haki yetu Haki yetu," the residents were heard enchanting all over in Kagir protesting for peace and their rights.

A protest of the elderly and widows was much heard as they say that most of the elderly run away to the forest for their safety for hiding.

The last attack here left hundreds of livestock stolen and almost six schools closed leaving learners stranded with nothing to do.

"MBR should be set up to send children back to school. These tears are yet to reach the Kenyan government, "asserted the residents of the region.

The residents are disappointed of the successive government's promises of dissent in the region have never been kept off.

"The bullets that people are found with belong to the state. These bullets are marked KDF C, "asserted Reuben Chepsongol MCA of Bartabwa.

The Rift valley regional commissioner Muhammed Maalim is expected to tour the disturbed region with his security team in the coming days to restore peace in the Region.
