Raila Odinga and the Azimio alliance have been informed that protests and picketing are permitted by Interior CS Kithure Kindiki. He has, however, issued a warning that anyone found carrying rocks and stones with the intent to disturb the serenity of fellow Kenyans or cause harm to them will be dealt with harshly and ruthlessly.

Kindiki has been very explicit about his opposition to the protests, especially if the quiet of regular people is disturbed. Anyone detected carrying stones and knives would get severe punishment, claims Kindiki.
Kindiki has informed Raila Odinga that peaceful protests are anticipated today. It is unacceptable to shout and make aggressive noises on Nairobi's streets in an attempt to frighten shoppers, businesspeople, or other groups.
Kindiki wants the Azimio coalition to be aware that the administration of President William Ruto will uphold the law mainly but respond mercilessly to any criminality. He makes it abundantly apparent that the police will not tolerate a disturbance of the peace, precisely when the robbers are being surrounded.
