Today,30th June 2021, the Dekuts able students rights agitator, Ibrahim Kibuda has been captured and detained in Kabiruine Police station early in the morning over charges yet to be revealed.The Student is said to have been captured by police officers around 6am, early in the morning and detained in Kabiruine Police station,a police station near Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, along Dedan Kimathi University to Chaka Road.
The Student has now been transferred to Nyeri Town Police station after fear from Dekut Students.The School Students Leaders body DEKUTSO(Dedan Kimathi University of Technology Students Organisation) has confirmed the same and now have released a memo condemning the student detainment.They have declared support against the university's heinous, unlawful and barbaric act and urged Dekut Student's to remain calm, supportive and peaceful as they await on the way forward.Below is the Memo from DEKUTSO.
According to everynews Reporter,Nyeri County,the University has been experiencing looming demonstrations after the Students raised a red flag over the 2020/2021 and 2021 FY unprecedented fee Increment.On Friday 25th June 2021, the students met to decide the progress,pray together and decide the way forward over the Fee increment after multitudes claimed to be unable to handle the large amount of fee and were going to miss the fore-scheduled End of Semester exams.
Student Leaders have been holding a series of meetings with the School administration without baring fruits and now the students are out to act over it.The mentioned student,has been seen on the fore front for the fight of the students rights tirelessly and with no exception.He has been backed up with a good number of students and now the University administration seems to have taken the other way,"Iddi Amin" rilling system over the Comrades plight.Several Students Leaders have been captured by the University Security and threatened against raising their cry over the high unbearable school fees.
