Major Relief For Justice Muchelule and Chitembwe As Court Makes A Ruling On Their Graft Allegations

For the past few months, members of the judiciary have found themselves in deep trouble following controversial moves by the executive against them

A few months ago the DCI grilled Judges Said Chitembwe and his counterpart Andrew Muchelule on allegations that they had been involved in corruption.

The two judges were reportedly found in possession of money in foreign currency inside the judges' chambers. The Director of Public Prosecution has been trying to open criminal proceedings against the two judges but the High Court has stopped them from arresting the two.

Earlier today the High Court once again extended the orders that are barring DPP Haji and IG Mutyambai from arresting or charging Justice Aggrey Muchelule and Justice Said Chitembwe to February 21, 2022.

The move is no doubt a welcome relief for the two charges. Another high profile judge Ole Sankale is also on the radar of the DCI for his alleged role in the killing of Tycoon Tob Cohen.

Meanwhile, share with us your thoughts on the matter kindly.
