Why Kenya will still proudly own Indian ocean portion despite ICJ ruling against her

Yesterday, ICJ gave its judgment on a case presented by Somalia amid controversy concerning the owner of the portion in Indian ocean.

The Court ruled in favor of Somalia though Kenya through current president vowed to disobey the ruling.

Great influence of Kenya in international organizations than Somalia seems to strengthen it in despising the ruling. Suppose the UN chips in to solve the conflict, definitely Somalia will lose against Kenya.

Kenya pleaded to have more time for preparation over the case but the court never heard their cry. This made her withdraw from it hence her voice was not considered during yesterday's judgment.

Despite the ruling, the is a superpower to Somalia in all circles. Somalia may do next to nothing if Kenya remains adamant about its decision to disobey the court.

Somalia had influence in the case since one of judges was Somalian citizen. This turns it too unfair on the side of Kenya. The government of Kenya can decide to revisit the hearing giving it a better position to win.
