What A Man Did To Ksh 22,000 Sent To His Mpesa Mistakenly, That Has Landed Him In Deep Trouble

A Man identified as Kaluki Mwanzi has landed in hot soup after withdrawing and spending money which was mistakenly send to his Mpesa account.

The owner of the money, Joseph Mbiti Maithya said he wrongly sent 22,00 Kenyan shillings to Mwanzi and when he asked him to reverse the money but Mwanzi declined which left Mbiti with no option than to seek legal action against him.

Appearing before Mwingi Law Court Joseph Mwanzi pleaded guilty to the charges of intentionally withdrawing money sent to him by mistake.

The court however gave him an option of refunding the money but Mwanzi said he has already used the money. Mwanzi went ahead to ask for mercies and forgiveness saying he is the breadwinner for his family.

Meanwhile, recently Safaricom company introduced a service called "reversal" where one can reverse money mistakenly sent to another person. Moreover, customers who sent money to the wrong person al also requested to send the transaction code to 456 through a text message.Source.
