A Change Of Guard At The Court Of Appeal

The court of Appeal will today change its leadership as Daniel Musinga will take oath today as the president of the court of Appeal.Judge Musinga was elected on May 24 2021 by appeal judges.

Judge Musinga will replace Justice William Ouko who has been elevated to the supreme court bench after being nominated by the Judicial Service Commission in a competetive exercise and he was later appointed by president Uhuru Kenyatta.Justice William Ouko replaced Justice Jacktone Ojwang who retired in February last year.

Before being elected as the president of court of Appeal, judge Musinga was appointed as the chairman of the Judiciary Committee on Elections(JCE) in january 2021.He took I've the position from High court Judge Msagha Mbogholi.Judge Daniel Musinga is expected to follow the footsteps of Justice William Ouko who many have the opinion that he provided good leadership during his tenure as the president of the court of Appeal.
