After being postponed several times, eventually the hearing of the case which was to begin last week Monday begins today 12th July 2021.
Migori kingpin together with Oyamo and Obiero were allegedly involved in the murder of a 26 year old Rongo University student together with her unborn baby.
The grudgesome murder took place in 2nd and 3rd May 2018. Sharon was murdered in Cold blood and her body dumped in Kodero forest in Oyugis town, Homabay. Sharon's mother confirmed that she was a friend to the Migori Governor who impregnated her as per the DNA of the unborn child.
In first account, the three were charged with murdering Sharon and the second of murdering her unborn baby. Post mortem showed the baby died after a knife through her mother's belly injured it.
As per the guidelines of MOH and general measures to curb Covid-19, DPP has been instructed to avail two witnesses per day. The number of participants and people attending the hearing has been restricted to accused person and their counsel, the team from DPP office, counsel from the family and family of the deceased.
The hearing at the Milimani law Court will commence for the next two weeks. Let's hope the guilty will be brought down since the case has been pending for long.
