Flamboyant Lawyer Breaks Silence After High Court Revoked Degree Requirement For Governors

Renowned constitutional lawyer Ndegwa Njiru, has broken silence after the High Court nullified the law that requires gubernatorial aspirants to have a genuine university degree that is recognized in Kenya.

The High Court, through Justice Anthony Mrima, declared the law as unconstitutional saying that a person seeking the office of MCA is also eligible to vie as a governor according to section 180 of the 2010 constitution.

However, reacting to the High Court's move, Njiru, through his official Twitter page on Saturday morning, stated that the judgment by Justice Mrima is barbaric as it hurts fundamentals of the society.

According to Njiru, Mrima's judgment will contribute to bad governance since uneducated people who no nothing about governance will have the mandate to run for different offices.

"Even our courts have been HUSTLERNIZED.....the judgment by Justice Mrima scrapping the DEGREE requirements for governors is very pedestrian to say the least, its barbaric, retrogressive, lacks ingenuity, hurts fundamentals of our society, and will contribute to bad governance." posed Njiru.
