Angry residents in Matunda,Kakamega county have blocked Kitale-Eldoret highway after a police office is accused of sodomizing young school boys in the area.
They claim to have organized the protests today to raise a huge hospital bill for the treatment of a boy who was sodomised by the officer a week ago.
The officer identified by the people as Spencer Kibet from Likuyan police station is said to have sodomized more than 20 school boys from the area without any action taken on him.
They say that he was even arrested at some time and taken to court but was released on Ksh 100,000 cash bail.
The residents seem to be tired of such cases in the area saying that their young are not safe on the roads nowadays. They may even quit school in fear of being sodomised by the police officer.
The residents wants the county government of Kakamega to take action and arrest or transfer Kibet from Matunda.
