DPP Approves Murder Charges for Main Suspect in Jennifer Wambua's Killing

The office of the director of public prosecutions has finally approved murder charges for Peter Mwangi Njenga alias Ole Sankale, the prime suspect in the murder of national lands commission official Jennifer Wambua whose body was found dumped in Kerarapong, Ngong Kajiado County.

Mwangi was picked by homicide detectives tasked to unravel the gory murder of Wambua from his home in Embulbul in Ngong on April 15th.

He has all along been in detention after the prosecution filed an application asking for more time for police to piece together evidence and present a watertight case against the accused.

Their wish was granted by Kiambu chief magistrate Patricia Gichohi who remanded the suspect for further 14 days.

Findings by detectives so far have confirmed that Sankale was a jailbird and his criminal data system indicated that he had for pending cases on robbery with violence and theft.

Sankale who has since been placed at the scene of the crime by forensic evidence as well as witnesses who saw him with the deceased the last time will now take his plea on May 26th as Wambua's family seeks justice.

Before narrowing down to Sankale, Detectives had pursued different angles of the case among them the multi-million transactions that happened in the deceased's bank accounts prior to her death.
