Senior Lawyers Professor Makau Mutua and Ahmednasir Abdullahi, have addimited that the new Chief Justice Martha Koome, has falsely started in her tenure as the country's Chief Justice.
Speaking on an interview with Citizen Television, the two lawyers said that it is very unfortunate that the new Chief Justice can start her job, by allowing the constitution to be violated by the President by cherry picking the new Judges.
They argued that the new Chief Justice Martha Koome should not have attended the swearing-in of the 34 new Judges, something which she knows that it is wrong and unconstitutional. Because the whole process was leaving out the other six nominees.
However, they added that everything has failed in Kenya under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta, who does what he wishes due to lack of opposition which provides checks and balances to the government.
"It is very unfortunate that the Chief Justice can allow the president to violet the constitution. She knew very well that it is not the right thing, but she allowed it to happen including attending the swearing-in in of the new Judges. It is a false start for her and I can't deny that fact."
"The government has also failed and everything is not working in Kenya, since there's no opposition to provide checks and balances to the government." Said Prof Makau Mutua and seconded by Ahmednasir.
