Supporters of Azimio have heeded the call of their leader, Raila Odinga, and are holding demonstrations in different parts of the country.

20th March is the long-awaited day that all protesters have been asked to make their way to Nairobi to take part in the peaceful picketing process.

On 20th March, the former Azimio's running mate, Martha Karua asked the protesters to carry handkerchiefs to show that they were peaceful demonstrators.

In the other demonstrations, no instructions have been given, and protesters are acting of their own free will. In today's demonstration, the protesters were seen carrying empty sufurias, which some wore on their heads, cooking sticks and placards

Additionally, a group was spotted carrying an empty coffin made of boxes. Those carrying the empty coffin decried the hard times but did not give any meaning to the act.

On why they headed to Raila Odinga's call, the protesters explained that they obey him as the leader, and promised to show up on Monday in Nairobi.

"We Kisumu residents have come out to protest because Baba told us to demonstrate to State House when he was in Siaya. On March 20, we shall go to Nairobi and take over State House, Ruto must go." They told the Star.
