A man has caused an online uproar after he narrated how he ended up in prison serving a life sentence jail term on account of robbery with violence, a crime that he claims he never committed.
Narrating his story to Inooro Tv investigative journalist Simon Kibe, Daniel Muchiri was accused of breaking into a bank in Mombasa. However, Daniel claims that the allegations were framed up by his neighbor who always swore to have him jailed for having an eye to his wife.
After the bank was broken into, one of the suspects claimed that he hid some of the stolen goods in Daniel's house. The police therefore came in search of the goods but they did not find any. Instead, they took Daniels photo which was later used in the court to identify Daniel as one of the robbers.
The case culminated into a life imprisonment term for Daniel. After he appealed, the term was reduced into a 12 years jail term which he had already completed and was therefore released.
