Impressive CVs of 4 Newly Appointed Women Judges of the Court of Appeal by President Uhuru (Photos)

The Kenyan Court of Appeal was handed a major boost after President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed 7 new judges who were nominated by the Judicial Service Commission in 2019. In this article, we look at their previous work experience and academic qualifications that propelled them in the Judiciary.

Lady Justice Pauline Nyamweya

She holds a First Class Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Nairobi, a postgraduate diploma from Kenya School of Law and a Master of Laws Degree from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. She previously served as a Presiding Judge of the Environment and Land Court, Presiding Judge of Machakos County Courts and Presiding Judge of the Judicial Review Division at Milimani Law Courts.[Photo courtesy]

Lady Justice Hellen Amollo Omondi

She holds a Law degree from the University of Nairobi and a diploma in Legal Studies from Kenya School of Law and a Degree in Women’s Law from the University of Zimbabwe. She was previously working as a Presiding Judge in Homa Bay High Court.[Photo courtesy]

Lady Justice Grace Mumbi Ngugi

The alumnus of Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls’ High School holds a Bachelors of Law degree from the University of Nairobi and a Master of Laws (LLM) in Commercial and Corporate Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science.[Photo courtesy]

Lady Justice Lesiit Jessie Wanjiku

She was previously a Presiding Judge at the Milimani Law Court Criminal Division. She has handled high profile cases including the murder of college student Sharon Otieno and the murder of Monicah Kimani which Joseph Irungu alias Jowie was implicated as the main suspect.[Photo courtesy]
