Another High Court Blow To Uhuru, The Executive - Judiciary War Continues

The high court yesterday quashed Uhuru's appointment of parastatal heads. Justice Jessie Lesit, Chacha Mwita and Lucy Njuguna said in their ruling that the appointments were illegal lacking transparency and competitiveness.

In what is considered another blow to the executive particularly the President, the High Court yesterday sent home 128 parastatal heads appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta setting another epic battle between the two arms of the Government, that is the executive and the Judiciary. In their ruling, the three high court judges based their final decision on illegality of the process drawing comparisons with the recent nullification of the Constitution ammendment reforms through the BBI.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is now a man in legal war with the Judiciary, having already obeyed the first court order and appeal the High Court ruling on BBI nullification, next legal battle is expected following this recent ruling on his appointment of parastatal heads. With many believing that the Independence of the Judiciary is manifesting itself making decisions regardless of the stake in it, a lot is to be seen days ahead. With the BBI Appeal in the process and with this latest development, a legal battle is the offing between the Executive and the Judiciary.
