The Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has expressed dire concerns after Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition party leader Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga called for a holiday on Monday 20th. The COTU Boss who was once a huge supporter of Raila Odinga warned all workers against attending Raila's mass protests. COTU body warned workers to be at the workstation without fail.
“As the umbrella body for workers, we wish to remind workers to secure their jobs by reporting to their workstations. We urge workers to refrain from participating in any activities that may jeopardize their employment status," Atwoli's Deputy Benson Okwaro said.
Atwoli said urged all workers to go on as usual with their duties since mass demonstrations might affect their jobs. In addition, he sends a stern warning to all employers to check on their workers and sack those who will not be at the workstation on Monday 20th.
