A 52-year-old man has been arraigned before a Busia court for allegedly defiling a 10 years old girl.
The prosecution charged Tekla with defilement contrary to section 11(1) of the Sexual Offenses Act No. 3 of 2006.
The prosecution documents before court indicate, Tekla did indecent act to a minor contrary to the Sexual Offences Act.
The defilement case was first reported to Police Post where the accused person was arrested and taken to Police Station before being arraigned in court.
The alleged defilement occurred on May 9, 2021, and was discovered when the mother of the child noticed her child not to be walking comfortably, the mother interrogated the child where the child mentioned, Nicolas Tekla to have defiled her.
The child is reported to have been taken for a medical check-up and treated at Busia County Referral Hospital.
The Court then found the accused person of guilty and it's has sentenced him for life. This is also a teaching rapist that their days are numbered.
