A grandson of ex president Daniel Moi was on Tuesday found guilty of not telling the truth his about his financial status.
Ms Gladys Jeruto Tagi, who filed a petition in court to ask Mr Collins Kibet Moi to take full responsibility for his two kids, explained before the court that the father of her kids is a rich man and lead a good lifestyle.
Mr Moi who was proved to be the biological dad to Ms Jeruto’s two kids aged 11 and 9 after DNA test had explained infront of the court that he doesn’t have a job and he is unable to take care of kids basic needs.
He always takes care of his two kids medical needs by registering them in the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) cover.
Ms Jeruto while giving her testimony before the court rubbished the claims, telling the court that Mr Moi, who is a trained pilot, has all it takes to take care of his two kids.
The court heard that Mr Moi moves in a lavish style motor vehicle model V8 Prado, and he is able to service weekly.
Ms Jeruto also denied that Mr Moi is not broke, adding that he gets substantial amount of money from his late father’s mansions.
The woman also said that the idea by Mr Moi to move the kids to a public school. She claimed that the intentions would not help the two kids.
Ms Jeruto petitioned court in March arguing that Mr Moi of abandoning his kids. She argued to have stayed with each other for almost four years before they divorced in 2012.
In the petitioned filed through lawyer David Mongeri, Ms Jeruto wanted Mr Moi to contribute Sh 1 million per month for the kids basic needs and school fees.
Nakuru Senior Principal Magistrate Benjamin Limo ordered that the case goes to a full trial before it is ruled out.
The case was scheduled for mentioned on October 13.
