Current Baringo county senator Gideon Moi is having a hard time in a legal battle with his clansmen over a peace of land, located in Rongai, Nakuru county. A certain number of Mzee Moi's Kipchepkeres clan went to court accusing senator Gideon of grabbing a peace of land that his late father had given to them.

They claimed to have reached to an agreement with his late father to take 40 Acres of land out of 100 acres adjacent to his Kabarak farm.

Mr Simon kipsang Yator, Mr Michael Chebon and Mr Michael Chirchir Korir, have filed a case on behalf of the clan members before the environment and lands court in Nakuru county, against Gideon Moi, accusing the senator of illegally and fraudulently transferring their land to his name in conspiracy with the Nakuru Land registrar.

Through lawyer Ochieng Gai, the clansmen claim the senator, who is also the current clan patron, has subdivided and registered the land as Rongai/Rongai Block 6/2 and plans to sell it.

Documents from the court shows that the group (Keres Self Help Group) approached the former president Moi In a bid to buy a part of the land, adjacent to his Kabarak farm belonging to Rift Valley Hatcheries limited that was owned by Mzee Moi.
