National Lands Commission (NLC) Deputy Director of Communications Jennifer Wambua's case has taken a new twist as the trial was set to take place today, Wednesday 26th May.
Peter Mwangi Njenga who is also referred to as Ole Sankale is the prime suspect in the murder of Jennifer Wambua, who was linked to the heinous act after DCI detectives used forensic technology and eyewitnesses to link him to murder.
According to sources, the prime suspect has been deemed as mentally unfit to stand trial at the Machakos Law Courts.
The prosecutor at the Machakos High Court revealed that a mental assessment test carried out on Peter Mwangi Njenga showed that he is mentally ill, thus he cannot stand trial.
However, Sankale's lawyer claimed that her client will undergo a second mental assessment test on June 24th before the hearing which is set to be held after the second test.
Jennifer Wambua went missing on 15th March, but was found strangled to death in some Ngong forest thicket which prompted for quick action to get the main perpetrators behind her death.
Her family is hoping that justice will be served to her as she continues to rest in peace.
