A man will spend 40 years in jail after he was found guilty of killing a magistrate's 9-year-old daughter.
The suspect, Benson Kimathi, a former prison warden, was found guilty of killing the daughter of Caroline Kimei (a Magistrate at Githongo Law Courts).

Kimathi is said to have murdered Maribel Kapolon in September 2018 after a failed relationship with her mother.
Court noted that the minor died in a painful way for a mistake she didn't commit. Kimathi and Caroline had parted ways after being together in an affair that did not materialize.
Before the two fell out, the girl had become so close with Kimathi that he would at times pick her where the School bus used to drop her in the evening.
The same happened on the fateful day, but this time Kimathi did not take the girl home, causing the family to be distressed after they failed to trace her.
The Class Four pupil was found dead 11 days after being kidnapped.
Her body was discovered in Gitoru Forest with visible marks of physical assault.
