RIP: Angry Residents Protest The Killing Of Form 2 Student Who Was Run Over By Vehicle In Matunda

As students are going back home for the short mid term break, several uncertainties has emerged on the roads where some (students) have lost their lives.

Angry residents of Matunda in Likuyani Sub county protested the murder of a 17 years old boy who was ran over by a speeding matatu which killed him instantly.

According to NTV news reports, the student was cycling to school in the morning at 6.30 am when he was hit by the matatu which veered off the road and overturned.

Confirming the news, Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Mr Ayub Ali revealed that the matatu was trying to overtake that's when the young boy was hit and killed at the spot.

"The vehicle then veered off the road and overturned, landing on its side. The victim died on the spot." Police boss Ali stated.

One of the resident spoke to the reporters as he stated that this is not the first incident in the area as there have been more accidents in the recent past.

"This is not the first incident. Many people have been knocked down by vehicles. At least two people are run over every month.

There should be speed bumps erected to curb these accidents otherwise we will take matters in our own hands."

This is an unfortunate incident which is supposed to be sorted to avoid the loss of more innocent lives.
