The holder of the CJ office serves for a limit of ten years or resign on accomplishing the age of seventy years with the alternative of a withdrawal from the workforce after achieving the age of 65 years as per Article 167 of the Kenyan Constitution.

A Gazette Notice produced by Philomena Mwilu illustrated the rules of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) which expresses that the Chief Justice will have a Monthly salary of Sh990,000 as least and a limit of Sh1,327,888 exclusive of the benefits.

In case she will be appointed by the President as the CJ, Justice Martha Koome will turn into the lead female Chief Justice in the nation of Kenya.

While being interviewed, Justice Martha Koome said she will rely upon her experience as an insider of the Judiciary to change courts. Justice Martha Koome, who showed up before the JSC as the third possibility to confront the meeting board, said her abundance of involvement in law – locally, territorially and universally – would prove to be useful in tackling the early-stage struggles confronting the courts.

Much appreciated
