The late Word athletic champion was allegedly murdered by his husband at their house.
The man's next move will be revealed in on April 1, 2022. He had been made an application to be released on bond.
Judge Nyakundi said that she could not make a conclusive decision since she had not received any alert about the same from defence because it has rejected his release on bond.
Earlier, the prosecution revealed that, if the athlete's husband was to be released on bond, the he could have paused a threat to the witnesses thus interfering with the whole process. In this case the family cannot get the necessary justice.
Cherop was killed by his partner because of the fight over wealth accumulated by both of them. Due to this the court told the family to take control of all the wealth owned by the couple until the whole process of justice is completed.
After the killing, Rotich was arrested on his way to Tanzania at Changamwe after being involved in an accident.
The court will continue with it's hearing after the fate for bond application is determined.
