The wheels of Justice could have moved faster than they did for talented upcoming lawyer Yasmin Mokaya who recently made the headlines following her unfair Sacking from the law firm she was working for.
Miss Mokaya had been working for Kindiki And Advocates for a while until she was unceremoniously dismissed from her job on claims that she was pregnant and incapable of effectively conduct her duties.
The law firm is owned by Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki who is a close ally of the Deputy President. The Court ruled that the Kindiki firm had unlawfully dismissed Miss Mokaya and thus, in turn, causing her emotional damage and affected her opportunity for Career advancement.
Miss Mokaya had applied for a Maternity leave which was initially granted but the firm later withdrew and sacked her after she failed to report for work.
The court ordered the Firm to pay her around 2.2 million as compensation for the damages caused.
