Raila Reveal Attempts By Religious Leaders To Stop Azimio Protests, Gives Azimio Stand On The Matter

Azimio la Umoja coalition leader Raila Odinga did today, March 14 lead Azimio la Umoja coalition rallies to Siaya County, home county in what is termed people's barasa conversation.

Speaking at the function, the Azimio boss revealed attempts by religious leaders to postpone Azimio la Umoja coalition mass protest scheduled on March 20, Monday.

He said that a number of religious leaders had appealed to him to postpone the protest, a move he says is unacceptable and that coalition won't accept.

"A group of the clergy through the National Council Of Churches of Kenya have appealed to me." Raila Odinga stated.

Further, he said that when Azimio came to conclusion for the mass protest, was after their ultimatum was ignored.

"I want to tell them in response that when Azimio came to conclusion that we need to have a Protest, it was after our ultimatum was ignored," He added.

Among Azimio la Umoja coalition grievances to government include lowering of high cost of living, open to IEBC serves just to mention a few. President William Ruto and team has however ignored the push, saying that it is Azimio's attempt force handshake between HE. Ruto and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
