Kisumu County Senator and Senior Counsel Professor Tom Ojienda who is also a senior counsel is set to receive Ksh397 million, for defending the National Lands Commission (NLC) in court against the land case which the commission was previously battling.
According to a report by the Standard Newspaper as quoted by KTN news television today, Senior Counsel Professor Tom Ojienda who is currently the Senator elect for Kisumu County, has been allowed by court to receive a lumpsum payment of Ksh397 million from National Lands Commission (NLC).
This payment is a compensation on his work which he did by representing the NLC commission in a court case which the commission was facing. His pay had been temporary halted over claims of being so high but the High Court has now ordered the commission to pay him that amount.
