Kenya's Legal advisor to the Government Attorney General Kihara Kariuki has withdrawn an application that had been filed at high court. According to an article published by the Star Newspaper, the letter dated 18 May to the Deputy Registrar, the Attorney General Kihara Kariuki has decided to withdraw the stay application following High Court decision to nullify the whole BBI process. The Attorney General is with drawing the stay application to seek further relief at the appellate Court. In the stay application the attorney general had wanted the high court to stay the process of amending the Constitution before the Judgement was made last Thursday that put the BBI process on hold.Report Courtesy: Star
In the report, solicitor General filed a notice at the court of appeal seeking the Constitutional and Human Rights Division at High Court suspend order that had been issued first.
The attorney general has come under harsh critism ever since the judgement to nullify the BBI process. Some of the politicians allied President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga pegged their blame on him.
