More Bad News To Mumias Sugar Company After Latest Landmark Court Ruling

The long awaited hope by Mumias Sugar Company farmers and shareholders was short-lived after the Court Suspended the Uganda-based Sarrai group from continuing with the operations.

This came after several individuals a d bodies filed cases stopping haulting the operations at the company until the tussle is resolved.

Yesterday , the court released another bad news to the company after a landmark ruling.

Judges on Wednesday declined to issue orders allowing Uganda-based Sarrai Group to continue operations at Mumias Sugar Company as pleaded by the Kakamega County government.

Justice William Musyoka said he would consider the application by the county, after seeing court filings by other parties.

Sarrai on the other hand has filed an application seeking to have the order suspending the lease lifted. The court made the ruling saying that it cannot allow the Sarrai group to continue with operations before it listens to other applications filed by other organizations.
