A family in Gichugu, Kirinyaga East, is pleading with the authorities to bring the lone gunman responsible for their son's death, who was shot five times, to justice.
Elizabeth Wakabari, the deceased grandmother, spoke on Thursday, November 24 in Kabuti village. She expressed her inability to understand how a man armed with a pistol could storm a home and kill someone while family members helplessly looked on.

Stephen Kariuki, 41, a car owner in Githurai 44, was having tea with family on November 23 at around 1 pm when the lone shooter attacked the compound. He double crossed him in the chest and shot him three times in various body areas before warning the other family members to keep quiet.
The shooter was wearing a helmet, making it impossible to tell who he was. The family and the villagers were shocked when the assailant shot Kariuki and then escaped on a motorcycle.
