High Court Axe Falls On Amos Kimunya Again After MP Waluke John Was Fixed

Amos Kimunya, a former Kipipiri MP, has been sentenced to almost the same amount of time in prison as Grace Wakhungu, who was given 69 years and 67 years in prison, respectively, for their roles in the Sh313 million NCPB case.

The high court on Thursday overturned a decision that had found Kimunya guilty of a fraud case involving Ksh 60 million.

When he was the minister of lands, the Kipipiri MP was charged with using improper means to transfer land to his corporation.

The accusations were, however, dismissed by the court in May 2020 on the grounds that the state had failed to establish its case against the defendants.

The state is likely to present evidence refuting Kimunya's case, but with the case's recent resuscitation, Kimunya will now stand trial.

Waluke, who is anticipated to file an appeal against the High Court's ruling, will now be his new ally.

In order to avoid serving a 67-year prison sentence, Waluke must pay a Sh2 billion fine.
