Supreme Court has stopped the swearing ceremony of Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu that was scheduled to happen tomorrow. This news has just came in as of 25th October 2021, few days after the court ruled that the acting Governor Anne Kananu to be sworn as the governor of Nairobi.

The court ruled in favor of Kananu after they dismissed the petition made by the Impeached Governor Mike Sonko. They dismissed Sonko's petition because it didnot met the threshold set for such application under the rules of Court Of Appeal.
Mike Sonko had asked the court to issue orders barring Kananu from taking the oath of office pending the hearing and determination of the intended appeal.
The Supreme Court of Kenya has called off the swearing of Anne Kananu has the new Governor of Nairobi and this case has been put of for two weeks. Main reason for the swearing of ceremony to be called off, has not yet been stated.
