There is always a good feeling, a feeling of achievement when you get what your heart was set for. Justice William Ouko has been the president of the Court of Appeal of Kenya. Though his quest for the sit of Chief Justice was not met, he still went ahead to seek to fill the vacancy of a judge of the supreme court. He was not only lucky to be shortlisted, but he was named by the Judicial Service Commission and now appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court.
The Kenyan Lawyer and Jurist will replace Justice Jackton Boma Ojwang who retired last year. In his post on Twitter, Justice Ouko is deeply humbled on his new appointment. He has expressd his respects and appreciation to the leaders and the people of Kenya for their support. Congratulations to the newly appointed judge are in order for his perseverance, patience and hardwork to where he has reached in his career.
Justice Ouko has 33 years of legal experience. He rises to Supreme court at a time in history when there is contitution amendment talk in the country. Majority are looking forward to a referendum despite the five bench judges ruling on Thursday 13th May 2021.
