Legal Battle Looming As Ruto's Latest Appointments Are Set To Be Challenged In Court

The Law Society Of Kenya has yet hatched a plan to challenge president William Ruto's latest appointments at the court. The society has noted that those appointed by the president are those with various cases and integrity issues.

This is after the head of State appointed Mary Wambui as the chairman of the Communications Authority Board and Ferdinand Waititu as a member of the Nairobi River Commission among other top appointments.

LSK which challenged the appointment of the Orincipal Secretaries has declared that for Waititu they will be moving to court even as they still consult on the rest of the appointment.

"We are keenly looking at the appointments by President Ruto and engaging civil society organisations with a view of challenging some." Law Society of Kenya boss Eric Theuri was quoted.

"For Waititu we will definitely go to the court it is clear that once you're impeached you can not hold a public office" The LSK President added.

Waititu was impeached in 2020 by the members of County Assembly who accused him of gross misconduct and alleged corruption. His impeachment was further upheld by the Senate.
