Tears As A Man Butchers His Brother To Death In Front Of Father Over Land Dispute

Events of criminal activities in today's society have become rampant  with most family members opting to use death as solutions in case of misunderstandings and arguments.

On Monday evening,  residents of MogogosiekKonoin Sub-county of Bomet were drawn into mourning after a man, Charles Tanui,  butchered his brother, Bernard Tanui to death infront of their father over tea farm. The incident was witnessed by the deceased wife.

According to reports by area residents, the 35- year old man had come home earlier in the day when he found Bernard's wife plucking tea from his portion of the tea farm. Charles was infuriated by the act and sought answers from his father who asked him to go fetch his brother from Mogogosiek center for a discussion. The deceased worked as a bodaboda rider.

It was after arriving at home when Charles got into the house and brought out a panga which he used to attack his brother.  Bernard's wife screaming attracked the locals who took Bernard to the nearest health centre. He was later referred to Litein Mission hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Konoin sub- county commander Alex Shikondi confirmed to K24 TV and that the killer is under their custody and will be arraigned in court for murder.  “We got the report from their father who is a witness in this case…the two may have longstanding family differences over land and that is what occasioned the incident,” said Shikondi.
