The Judiciary has been facing alot of major setback since 2017 when retired CJ David Maraga nullified the presidential election leaving President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto humiliated. The two leaders came out and boldly stated that they will revisit the matter. Since then CJ David Maraga kept on complaining about the Judiciary being underfunded.
When the JSC Commissioners carried out the interview for replacement of retired CJ David Maraga, Kenyans were carefully watching and had been following everything closely. Majority had expected that William Ouko or Fred Ngatia would have carried the day. Many were surprised when CJ Martha Koome took over and some when demonstrated agaist the JSC Commissioners decision. Nelson Havi LSK president was among those who did not agree.
The BBI report was taken to High Court where the six judges stopped it and it was moved to court of appeal. With the hearings ended. Lawyer and Political analyst Ambrose Weda has Affirmed that the BBI report will had into supreme Court. These is not good news for CJ Martha Koome since Majority of Kenyans are waiting to judge her according to the decision she will make.
