Another Blow To Uhuru's Government As Court Suspends The Appointment Of This High Ranking Officer

President Uhuru Kenyatta's government battles with court has continued today after the appointment of Ambassador John Mwangemi as the acting managing director of the Kenya ports authority has been suspended.

The Board of Directors of Kenya Ports Authority had early last week announced the appointment by the Government of Amb. John mwangemi as the new Acting Managing Director, the appointment took effect on 1st July 2021.

However, according to reports by local dailies, Mwangemi's appointment has been suspended pending hearing of case filed by lobby group challenging the entire recruitment process.

The Commission for Human Rights and Justice had sued the KPA board, Transport ministry and Attorney-General Kariuki Kihara to halt the recruitment of new ports agency boss until the current board is restructured. However, the board went ahead to conduct the process of filling the vacancy left after Manduku resigned.
