Every year there is a event for the Jurist of the Year Award that seeks to give recognition, acknowledgement, and encouragement to jurists who have consistently, fearlessly, and impartially promoted the rule of law and human rights in Kenya during the year.
And on Friday, Joel Ngugi was crowned as the Jurist of the Year by the International Commission of Jurists.
And in his speech, Justice Joel Ngugi dedicated this victory to all Kenyans who fight for Kenyans right and this is what he said:
"This award is meant for the many faceless Kenyans who, daily, fight for the Kenyan Constitution and Constitutionalism,” Justice (Prof.) Joel Ngugi said.
Justice Joel Ngugi was appreciated by many Kenyans and many of them congratulated him for this opportunity.
