Two men from Nairobi county have been arraigned in court and charged for allegedly ganging up to abuse a woman in turns, leaving her nursing injuries.
The two appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Mercy Malingu at the Makadara Law Courts, having been charged with sexual assault contrary to section 10 of the Sexual Offenses Act (SOA) of 2006.
According to prosecution reports, the suspects; Issa Odhiambo Suleiman and Ndaya Kassim Owino were arrested after they allegedly turn up against their friend's girlfriend when she blacked out in a local joint located within the city.
It's reported that one of the suspects reportedly gave her the victim a beer he was drinking, and she immediately blacked out. The woman woke up the next day at around midday and found herself on Odhiambo's bed alone.
Eyewitnesses told the court that the incident occurred on the at one of the men's residence whose family members were not at home.
They confirmed penetration took place and also that there were abrasions on the complainant's private parts, as some physical injuries were seen from far.
The victim's father informed the court that he returned home from work at around 5 pm and expected his daughter to show up, but she did not, making him anxious.
At around 7:30 pm, he received a phone call from his workmate, informing him that his daughter was admitted at a local Hospital in a serious condition.
After regaining consciousness the next morning, she told her father that the two gentlemen had grabbed her and injected her with an unknown substance in a club before dragging her to an unknown place and took turns on her.
She said Kativu allegedly slept with her first before his accomplice, Nyikayaramba, took his turn and was then caught red-handed by members of the public who rushed to her rescue.
