Few days ago the first lady of USA visited Kenya and a day after it was announced by the supreme court that LGBTQ people have the right to form an organization since they are also Kenyans. USA being a country that supports LGBTQ left many speculating that the supreme court announced that because USA first lady was here.
USA later announced that they would give Kenya 16 billion to help the government fight hunger and drought where many said that was the payment the government received to allow LGBTQ in Kenya. The president and his deputy stood against this saying they are not involved and they will do all they can to make sure LGBTQ will not prevail in Kenya.
Some minutes ago USA through their ambassador in Kenya they have responded to the allegations saying the Kenyan government knows the USA perspective on LGBTQ but they also respect Kenya’s right on the particular issue. She went ahead and clarified that there is no linkage between food and drought relief and Kenya’s stance on LGBTQ.
