Chief Justice Martha Koome has been put on the spot by the Kimilili Member of Parliament Hon. Didmus Barasa who has claimed that the aforesaid CJ is secretly dinning with the people who are fighting he Judiciary and humiliating the judges in public, sending a stern warning that CJ Koome might be the next victim if she continues dancing to the tone of abusers of the Judiciary.
While responding to the Press statement released by CJ Koome, Hon. Barasa said the CJ cleverly used a language that will not anger the Executive, alleging that the conduct of the CJ was a clear signal that she is working for the people who want to control the Judiciary.
“Reading the Press statement by @CJMarthaKoome, I can deduce that the language and the tone of the message was cleverly done to avoid incensing the executive. I can aptly say the author is in bed with the people who are attempting to mutilate the independence of the judiciary,” said Hon. Barasa.
He called upon the CJ to rise and stand against any governmental platform and politicians who want to use the Judiciary for their own selfish gains, hinting out that it’s her role to protect the judges and anything that concerns the Judiciary.
Hon. Barasa noted that the Executive is not stable at the moment and when CJ Koome thinks that by pleasing them she will be spared when changes are taking place might land her into a bigger trouble as the victim of everything.
“CJ should wake up and defend the independence pf the Judiciary at all cost. She may be the next victim since the executive seem to be guided by interests which may change tomorrow,” he said.
