Reversed-Apartheid: White South Africans Are Living In Abject Poverty (photos)

According to KSP magazine, in 2021 57.9% of people in South Africa are native speakers, 40.2% are native English speakers, and 1.9% speak another language as their mother tongue. The World Bank this year deemed the country as the world's most unequal society, estimating that the top 10% of the population own 70% of the nation's assets. 85% of the arable land is own by Whites.

Parliament pass motion in 2018 to allow for the expropriation of land without compensation, which was supported by ruling ANC party on grounds that the land belong to Blacks. The number of poor Whites has risen since the end of apartheid. There are approximately 450,000 Whites living in squatter camps. Before independence, they were protected by civil service and government-owned industries by guaranteeing even the poorest employment.

Current estimates of whites poverty run as high as 12%. The phenomenon is mostly blamed on the government's affirmative action employment legislation, which reserve 80% of new jobs for black people. Reuters stated that more than 150,000 are struggling for survival.
