There has been tension in Kiambaa Constituency after police condoned Karuri Primary school.

The grounds was to be used for final football matches organised by UDA Party Kiambaa Constituency candidate Njuguna Wanjiku.

In a press statement by Kiambu police boss Ali Nuno, both UDA and Jubilee rallies were cancelled after permits were issued for the same venue.

Ali Nuno said the move was to prevent confrontation and possible clashes in the area.

The Jubilee Party overnight had erected tents at Karuri Primary.

Deputy President William Ruto's allies led by Kiharu constituency member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro said UDA was issued a permit a long time ago and the move by police to condone the venue was about politics and application of double standards by the law enforcers.

On Sunday,UDA and Jubilee Party supporters clashed at Banana at Kiambaa leaving Moses Kuria's vehicle damaged and personal driver injured.

Kiambaa Constituency By-elections is slated to be held next Thursday.
