Maasai Files a Petition at NLC Demanding All Their Ancestral Lands in The Country to be Returned

Among the many disputes that birth the tribal clashes in modern day Kenya is the issue of land, especially among the pastoral communities.

While some hearders from particular community claims a part of the land is theirs, another community comes in and claim ownership of it.This causes clashes and immense lose of lives and property of greater value.

And now as per the reports, the Maasai has filed a petition at the National Land Commission (NLC),to demand that all their land across the country,,which their parents owned long time ago,be returned to them.

The community stated the lands they want back are in Laikipia, Nyandarua,Uasin Gishu,Trans Nzoia, Nakuru and Nairobi Counties.

The move by the Maaasi community comes as the dust of banditry attacks in Laikipia settles.

The Laikipia residents, especially of Maasai origin have also been informing the government,to share the land alleged to be DP Ruto's called ADC land, after the DP denied the ownership of the land and asked the government to give it to Laikipia people.
